Three days until takeoff! The men met together today to package up the last of our baseball equipment. Our team is anxious to leave and excited to serve. The biggest thing we ask for is prayer that our conversations would be Spirit-led and our actions quick to fill needs. We will be bringing 22 fifty-pound boxes of baseball equipment. Since we plan to reach people through a baseball camp, we pray all of the boxes arrive with us and at the same time.  Pray for hearts to be opened and ready to hear the Gospel. We are only the messengers, God will provide the words and the right moments. We have been preparing spiritually for this as individuals, and on the trip we hope to grow through our daily have Bible studies and reflection time.

With our time in the Dominican Republic limited to only a week, we have a few simple goals. We are using baseball as our primary way of reaching people. We currently have 100 boys, ages 7-17, signed up for the camp we will be running. We have been given their names and have been praying for them individually. We hope to see a few young men grow in their faith, who will then be able to mentor other men, touching people we may never meet. Our second goal is to get a feel for how we can serve through education. We plan to meet with a local principal and a few teachers during this trip.

Thank you once again for your prayers and support. Witnessing God’s provision firsthand in making this trip possible has been incredible!

Until the next time, as they say in Spanish, “Adios!”
