Do a quick Google search for "Dan Meers" and you'll find article after article about critical injuries he recently sustained while practicing for a stunt as KC Wolf, the Kansas City Chiefs mascot.

From the beginning of KC Wolf's existence 25 years ago, Dan has been captivating fans with stunts like bungee-jumping into the stadium, zip-lining from the nosebleeds down to the field, and jumping off of 4-wheelers to tackle actors posing as mascots from opposing teams. On November 23, 2013, while practicing for a zip-line stunt, one of the cords holding Dan snapped, causing him to free-fall 70 feet into the stadium's seats. Among his injuries, Dan suffered from a shattered tailbone, 7 broken ribs, and a shattered vertebrae, requiring surgery. During his 6-month period of recovery, Dan wrote Wolves Can't Fly, a book about his life as a mascot, to be released on November 23, 2014.

We’re thrilled to have Dan as our guest speaker for the November 22 & 23 weekend during his book release. Wolves Can't Fly will be available to purchase in the Lobby on Saturday, November 22 & Sunday, November 23. Book signings will occur in the Lobby after each service. This will be one weekend that you DO NOT want to miss!
