Our team has arrived in Cercadillo!
We had an early start, leaving for the airport at 3:30 a.m. After a flight delay and mix-up with flight times that delayed some of our team members in Miami, most of our team arrived in the capital city of Santo Domingo around 3 p.m. After going through customs and locating our luggage and baseball equipment, we boarded a bus to drive to the village of Cercadillo, in the Dajabón province. Our bus ride, the first of many, was long and bumpy. Driving lanes and stop signs here are mere suggestions, but thankfully, our driver was experienced.
We arrived at the compound at which we will be staying, which is part of Time Ministries. We had plans to clean the field and prepare for the baseball camp we will be conducting during our time here, but it was raining, so we had dinner and checked in early. Our team was rather tired from our travels, so a few hours of rest was very welcome. Most went to sleep early. The remainder of our team arrived around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.
1) Please pray that a missing bag of baseball equipment will soon find its way to us.
2) Two of our team members are also missing luggage.
