What We Believe

God

There is one God (Isaiah 45:6), made up of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14). He is all-powerful (Psalm 68:34, Psalm 147:5), all-loving (1 John 4:7), and all-knowing (Psalm 147:5, 1 John 3:20).

Jesus

Jesus is God's son (Matthew 3:16 - 17, John 1:18, John 3:16), born from a virgin (Matthew 1:18) and lived free of sin (Hebrews 4:15). He died on the cross to atone for our sins (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, 1 John 2:2), was buried in a tomb (Mark 15:46), and came back to life three days later (John 20:11 - 16). He returned to Heaven to be with God the Father (Acts 1:7 - 11) and to prepare Heaven for those that accept His gift of salvation (John 14:2 - 3). Jesus will return to Earth again (Matthew 26:64, Luke 21:25 - 28).

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God's Helper and Teacher, sent by God to (Luke 12:12, John 14:26), lead us to salvation (Romans 8:14), and guide us on our journey (Romans 8:26).

Bible

The Bible is God's Word (2 Timothy 3:16 - 17), without error (Psalm 12:6), and is the standard to which all things should be measured (2 Timothy 3:16 - 17).

Mankind

Mankind was created in God's image (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:2), sinless and perfect (Genesis 2:25) until tempted by Satan to go against God (Genesis 3: 1 - 7). Humans then became sinful beings (Genesis 6:5, Romans 3:23), in need of God's gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8 - 9).

Salvation

Jesus took on the sins of the world (John 1:29) and died on the cross in order to save mankind from the penalty of sin: hell (Romans 6:23). This selfless gift of salvation was given freely and is available for anyone to take. If a person admits their sins and accepts Jesus' gift of salvation (Romans 10:9 - 10), they will be saved from eternal damnation.

Baptism

Baptism is a symbolic representation of one's spiritual union with Jesus (Romans 6:3 - 11). We believe in baptism by immersion, as described to us in the Bible (Mark 1:5, Mark 1:9 - 10, Acts 8:38 - 39).

Believers

Believers have direct access to God, through Jesus (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18, 1 Timothy 2:5).

Church

The Church is a local group of baptized believers who come together to grow spiritually under the leadership of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:19 - 22, Ephesians 5:23, 25, 30).
