What is Operation Christmas Child? Shoeboxes?
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
Shoebox gifts demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. By partnering with the local church worldwide, each shoebox gift is a powerful tool for sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
What am I supposed to do?
Pack a shoebox! There are great resources about how to pack a box on the Operation Christmas Child website as well as a list of items that should not be packed. Please also include $10 for shipping that can be placed inside the box or paid for online if you would like to see where your box is delivered.
Does FBM provide boxes?
In the beginning of October, we will have boxes in various locations throughout the church that can be picked up, filled, and returned to the Lobby by November 13.

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Working with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the Operation Christmas Child gifts, Samaritan's Purse helps share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ on a global level.
