Building Healthy Families | Week 3
We will be continuing our Building Healthy Families series by talking about what it looks like to be a family on mission. What defines your family? If someone were to write a short article on your family, what would it say? My heart's desire for my family and for all of our families at FBM is that we would be families on mission. Understanding that we have all been given a very clear mission as believers to love God, love others and go into the world to spread the good news and make disciples of those around us. God wants to use your family to change the people around you. Is your family a family on mission?
Building Healthy Families | Week 2
We will be continuing our Building Healthy Families series by talking about a word that has the power to change the whole trajectory of a family: Forgiveness. We will learn from the life of Joseph that forgiveness is needed in our families because conflict will happen. Grievances will take place, feelings will get hurt, bad decisions will lead to brokenness, and our only hope of seeing a glimpse of healing that can take place is by reflecting the love and forgiveness that has so graciously and freely been given to us by God.
I Get You | Week 3
This Sunday, we conclude the I Get You message series. Sunday's message will emphasize that couples can truly understand and to love one another by first recognizing God's great love for them. We will be discussing the Hebrew word for God's love "Hesed". God's unwavering, loyal, and steadfast love. Throughout the Old Testament, "Hesed" is shown through God's covenantal love in His relationship with the Isaelites. In the New Testament, we see that true love, forgiveness, and sacrifice in relationships come from the transformative power of God's love through faith in Jesus.
Building Healthy Families | Week 1
Sunday starts a new message series called Building Healthy Families. The title of this week's sermon is The Spiritually Intentional Family. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are going to be reminded of their greatest responsibility: To be a tool in the hands of God to form a human soul. They will also be challenged to pursue one goal as a family: To raise sold-out, passionate followers of Jesus. We will be discovering why a spiritually intentional family is important, how it starts, and what it looks like.
Family - Firm Foundation | Week 1
Week 1
As parents we can start to lose sight of our calling and get lost in everything that goes along with being a parent. Whether it's the late nights with a newborn, the never ending energy of a preschooler, the hectic schedule of an elementary-aged child, or the growing independence of a teenager, there is so much that can get in our way of staying focused on our calling as a parent. This morning, we are going to talk about the importance of our calling as parents and be challenged to check the foundation of our families and determine whether or not they have been built on solid ground.
